My Favorite Markers for Faux Calligraphy
/Here are a few of my favorite markers for faux calligraphy! Note that these are not the markers that I would use for brush lettering, but rather faux calligraphy on different surfaces, like wood, chalkboard or acrylic!
The Best White Marker
Molotow acrylic paint pens are my favorite for a smooth, opaque white! These are great for many different surfaces, and my absolute favorite to use on acrylic! Super smooth and not streaky. What more do you need? They’re a little pricey, but this brand is my favorite!
My Favorite Black Marker
Sharpie Oil-Based markers are a classic, and for good reason! The black oil-based Sharpie is perfect for many different surfaces, from acrylic to metal and more. I am not a fan of the oil-based white, but the black is a marker that I find myself reaching for over and over again for different projects!
My Favorite Gold Marker
Sakura Pentouch gold markers are my personal favorite! Other golds get streaky easily, and these remain pretty smooth and have a gorgeous gold shine. It writes smoothly on so many surfaces. Note: I get the fine tip or extra fine tip, not the “calligraphie” version!
The Shiniest Marker Ever
If you’re looking for some insane shine, Molotow Liquid Chrome is THE marker to beat! It is a seriously shiny silver that looks gorgeous on so many different surfaces! Comes in a ton of size options for all of your projects!
I hope this list of markers is helpful as you decide what you want to use for your faux calligraphy projects!
