I joined Sip & Script as a calligraphy instructor in February. I’ve already been teaching my own hand lettered DIY classes, and am really excited to be teaching pointed pen classes, too! A little background on Sip & Script - it’s all about teaching fun, laid-back modern calligraphy classes at local venues. It was founded by two calligrapher friends, Meg and Julie, in the Boston area a few years ago and has grown to a group of instructors teaching classes across the country! It is really cool being part of a community of talented ladies & I’m loving it so far!
While obviously I wish we could be doing in-person classes right now, virtual classes are the next best thing. And calligraphy is the perfect quarantine activity because it is so relaxing! The smooth flow of the ink and soft scratch of the nib can be seriously therapeutic.

I’ve been seeing a ton of stuff on social media about different ways to help, so I wanted to compile a list. I know that I’m privileged to be able to work from home and stay home comfortably, and wanted to do something to give back. And, it feels good to do something to help, if you are able to!

Coloring can be a really relaxing and can help get your mind off of all that is going on in our world. It’s a great quarantine activity!
The first free coloring sheet is drink themed - because we could ALL use a drink of choice right about now! I’ve done a few virtual happy hours over the last two weeks, and they’ve been a lot of fun! Obviously it goes without saying we’d rather be meeting up in person but I’m thankful that we have technology to keep us connected. You and your friends could even print this out and color together during your next virtual hangout!
Read MoreIn addition to owning ECL, I also work full time! With the COVID-19 craziness, like many others, I’m working from home for the next (at least) two weeks. I already work one day a week from home, so it’s not totally new, but I’m honestly dreading the thought of two full weeks without going into the office. It’s hard to stay focused, and there’s so many distractions at home! But, it’s what must be done. I am grateful to have a job that can be done remotely.
Here’s some tips to help you stay on track and be productive and focused while you’re working from home!
